Nearly 53% of all skin cancers in the U.S. occur on the left side of the body — the driver’s side — with overwhelming estimates that one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime from melanoma and other skin cancers caused by the sun’s damaging rays. An Effective Solution

Thankfully, a clarification from the Department of Transportation now clearly allows the installation of UV protectant window film on side windows of trucks weighing over 26,001 pounds. The International Window Film Association (IWFA) issued a letter stating:

“The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has permitted the use of ‘clear’ window films on the front side windows of large trucks in use in the United States. This is a tremendous step forward in helping to protect the health and safety of the American truck driver.”
